About Yeung Ho II
DELICIOUS CHINESE FOOD
Yeung Ho II is a chinese restaurant in Poughkeepsie, New York. It is listed at 264 North Rd #2, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, which places it among the local businesses of Poughkeepsie that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 AMβ10:30 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Yeung Ho II at (845) 473-2336; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
With 3.8 out of 5 on Google from 238 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for chinese restaurants in Poughkeepsie. Recent reviews are the best guide.
Poughkeepsie is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Poughkeepsie follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Sadly gotta give this place 2 stars, tops. The sesame chicken has secrets...is it a sponge? a rubber band? Or just super low quality frozen chicken. Either way, it's gross. We ordered 2 items, we received 2 items, one was the chicken and the other was something we didn't actually order. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because they were fast and open late. Won't go back.

UPDATE June 2026: Definitely has inconsistenciesβ¦. Lowered review to 3. On a Sunday the food tastes left over, the sweet and sour sauce tasted really left over and had an after taste. All of the food was dry and hard to chew. Every chicken dish we had was dry and hard to chew, the boneless spare ribs were very dry and were like rocks, only some pieces were okay, and those were the pieces with a lot of fat on them. The beef was rubbery and very hard to chew. The only good thing about the dishes was the broccoli and green beans were fresh, and the pork egg rolls tasted good. Itβs the pork eggs rolls you usually get from Chinese food around here. Frozen, already made, they fried it good and that wasnβt dry or tasted left over. I will probably order here another month from now, but I wonβt be ordering on a Sunday. I will update again. Staff is still very friendly. May 2026: Excellent Chinese food!!! A lot better than it used to be. The rice, the lo-mein, and chicken was great. I ordered Hunan chicken and beef and broccoli and it was so yummy. My order was big but worth the price. The two ladies in the front are very friendly. I will be ordering again, and I highly recommend.

What a difference a number makes. Young Ho III on Freedom Plains Rd is outstanding. Young Ho II near Marist is not good in my opinion. Food is underseasoned and very bland. They dont have the homemade hot oil and mustard that I love. With so many choices when it comes to Chinese food there's really no reason to patronize this restaurant.

I am very picky with stuff and food is no different. I absolutely love the food here. It's always about 15 minutes to pick up and its always hot and fabulous! They will make it however you want it because I don't like traditional fried rice so I get plain fried rice. They are always friendly and anxious to please. They used to deliver but since corona They stopped. That is the only thing I am unhappy about! Try this place it's great!! By the way it's Chinese food!
